Local document workflow

What the desktop app does

The application reads the selected data and template locally, prepares one document for each data row and saves the finished PDFs to the selected Windows folder. Document contents are not part of the desktop account or credit requests.

During DOCX or XLSX conversion, temporary working files are created in the operating-system temporary directory. The app removes that job directory after normal completion or a handled error. An abrupt process or system failure may prevent normal cleanup.

  • ✓Read XLSX and CSV data directly from your computer
  • ✓Use DOCX or XLSX templates with matching variables
  • ✓Preview a record before starting the full batch
  • ✓Write separate, clearly named PDFs to your chosen folder
  • ✓Use bundled document-conversion tools without installing LibreOffice separately
  • ✓Continue limited offline generation after an online balance sync

Frequently asked questions

Does DataToPDF Desktop upload my spreadsheets or templates?

The inspected version reads XLSX or CSV data and DOCX or XLSX templates on your computer. It generates PDFs into your selected local folder. It communicates account, device and credit-usage information to DataToPDF services, but its generation requests do not send document contents or filenames.

Can I use the desktop app without internet access?

Limited offline generation is available only after you have signed in online, registered the device and synced a signed credit balance. First-time setup, credit refresh or recharge, password reset and usage reconciliation require an internet connection.

Which files does the desktop app support?

Version 1.0.0 accepts XLSX or CSV data files and DOCX or XLSX templates. It writes individual PDF files to the Windows folder you choose.

Does the installer include the document conversion runtime?

Yes. The installer bundles the application and its LibreOffice conversion runtime. The release blockmap and unpacked build folder are not required for a normal installation.

Will Windows show an unknown-publisher warning?

Version 1.0.0 is not Authenticode signed, so Windows may show an unknown-publisher warning. Verify the filename and SHA-256 checksum shown on this page before running the installer.
